Saturday, August 13th – 5:30pm at the Historic Ashland Armory – Nelson and her husband René Millán will sing at this very special event. The Rotary Club of Ashland will once again host a gala dinner and auction to fund houses for low-income residents of Ashland’s sister city Guanajuato, Mexico. Funds from previous Taste of Guanajuato events have funded 160 new houses in seven different communities. Ashland Rotary members have also used grant monies to build 200 healthy stoves and playgrounds in those communities.Individual tickets are $50, while tables are $1,000. Thursday, August 18th – 6:45pm – FREE! – Oregon Shakespeare Festival GREEN SHOW – bring a blanket and hear Sarah Jane get back to her BROADWAY roots with a musical theater Green Show featuring pianist Darcy Danielson and guitarist Ed Dunsavage. This is Nelson’s final solo Green Show of the season so don’t miss it!
Monday, August 22 – Daedalus at Oregon Shakespeare Festival – If you haven’t attended one of these shows, you MUST get your ticket today! It’s not only an amazing fundraiser for AIDS but the show is filled with heartfelt, hilarious, and sometimes racy performances by OSF actors. I like to think of it as the OSF Talent Show! Sunday August 28th from 6:30pm-8:30pm – This is the PERFECT end-of-summer evening! – Bring your friends (or your sweetie!), sit back, and watch the sunset over Emigrant Lake with fabulous complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvre and some sweet acoustic BLUES music by Louisiana girl Sarah Jane Nelson, international blues guitarist Hawkeye Herman, and Ashland’s very own “Big Irv” Lubliner on harmonica. With some great new material (blues classics and a couple of new blues originals!) this intimate house concert is sure to be a very special event. All this for only $20 a ticket.
